Richard Enthoven
Richard Enthoven is the Managing Director of Hollard. Richard started his career with American International Group as Regional Underwriting Assistant for South America. From 1996 to 1998 he was a Project Manager for United Financial Casualty Company and then Project Manager for IVM Holdings, Inc.
In 1999 Richard moved to Sydney and established Hollard in Australia.
Rob Ellis
Rob is the Chairman of Hollard Insurance Australia and has been on the Board since 2002. He was born in Johannesburg and has been in the insurance industry since 1973. He started his own reinsurance broking company in South Africa in 1984 and built it into the leading and largest of its kind in South Africa between 1984 and 1996. In 1994 he set up a subsidiary in London. In 1996 he sold his Group and continued to develop other entrepreneurial interests mainly in South Africa.
In 2000 Rob left South Africa and relocated with his family to Sydney at which time he purchased a large equity stake in AIRS Pty Limited which was a small independent reinsurance broking company. Together with his two partners they successfully built the business and sold it in 2004 to the Benfield Group. During that period and since 2004 Rob has successfully financed various new start up businesses and sits on those Boards.
David Matcham
The newest member to the Board, David Matcham joined Hollard after working at Lumley Insurance for 32 years from 1977. David was the Managing Director at Lumley from 1999 until 2003. Upon acquisition by Wesfarmers in 2003, David became the CEO and retired in 2009. David attended University of Technology, Sydney where he graduated with a B. Bus., Management with Finance in 1988.
David also currently serves as the Chairman of the CREATE Foundation, a not for profit organisation which aims to improve the quality of lives of children in care.
Brian Keane
Brian Keane is the former CEO of AAMI Ltd (1983-2002) and former Director and President of the Insurance Council of Australia (1992-1997). He has served on the board of TAB Ltd (2001-2004), Sky Channel Pty Ltd (2001-2004), Royal & Sun Alliance Aust Ltd (2000-2002), Australian Pensioners Insurance Agency (2000-2002), Insurance Disputes Resolution Body (1997-1999), Motor Accidents Authority of NSW (1994-1999) and Medibank Private Ltd (2004-2007), and was the Chairman of Skilled Drivers of Australia Ltd (1983-2002).
Brian is currently a Director of Law Cover Pty Ltd, Aurora Energy Pty Ltd, the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation, nib Holdings Limited and a member of the Australian Competition Tribunal.
Tony Richardson
Tony Richardson started his career as an underwriter for the Commercial Union Group followed by Munich Reinsurance Company and eventually the American Re-Insurance Company where he worked from 1982 to 2002. These roles included Regional Manager of Asia and Regional Manager of Australia and New Zealand.
He is currently a part-time lecturer in insurance at Victoria College, his Alma Mater, and at the Singapore Insurance Institute. He is also a contributor to the Australian Insurance Institute Journal as well as many other publications.
Trevor Williams
Trevor Williams has been working for the insurance industry since the mid-1980s. He began in 1984 with Campos & Stratis, a forensic accounting firm specialising in business interruption claims. He then joined Dennis Cook and Co in 1987 where he spent 13 years working in and managing a loss adjusting company. From 1994 to 2000 he was the Managing Director of Proloss Pty Ltd, the third largest loss adjusting company in South Africa employing over 50 loss adjusters. In mid-2000 he moved to Australia and is currently the Managing Partner and Director of RGL International (Australasia) Pty Ltd. Trevor holds both Chartered Accountant (South Africa) and Australian CPA qualifications.
Derrick Jones
Derrick is a Chartered Accountant who enjoyed a number of years in the audit profession at Deloittes in Johannesburg. After making the transition into commerce in 1988 Derrick gained extensive operational and strategic experience, holding a number of CFO roles within the highly successful Malbak/South African Druggists conglomerate.
After migrating to Australia in 1999, Derrick was appointed CFO (and subsequently CEO) of the Australian subsidiary of Quintiles Transnational, a US pharmaceutical services organisation. Derrick’s involvement in insurance began with his appointment as CFO of the IC Frith Group in 2006 followed by his current role as CFO of the Hollard Australia Group and The Hollard Insurance Company Pty Ltd from late 2008.
Derrick’s academic qualifications include a Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Accounting, both through the University of Witwatersrand (Johannesburg) and he is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia.
